Current Projects

Here you will find current and ongoing projects represented as either a singular artwork or a vast series that still captures my attention.  These works represent my most recent studio activities and my current creative interests.

As an artist my work ranges from assemblage and found object sculpture to abstract acrylic painting.  While my use of media changes depending on the needs of my projects, my themes are firmly grounded in exploring 21st century manifestations of spiritual identity  and faith maintenance.

My influences include historic figures like Mark Rothko and Joseph Cornell, and contemporary figures such as Nathan Preston, Pim Palsgraaf, and David Mankin

The Upper Room

This mixed media sculpture explores the tension between sacred interiority and the secular imperative to privatize belief.

A Beautiful Balance and Being

This mixed media series combines abtract painting and architectural sculpture. An investigation into the space between the human and the divine.

Halos

The halo represents a connection between the physical and spiritual realms, a bridge between the finite and the infinite. In my paintings, I use layered color and form to create a sense of movement and flow, mirroring the energy and vitality of the divine. The halo is not a literal representation of a divine figure, but rather an abstract expression of the spiritual energy that surrounds us all.

Lonely Architecture

Lonely Architecture is an ongoing series exploring the spiritual isolation of 21st century western culture.

Sketchbook Series

What started as several pages in my sketchbook, eventually grew into a collection of over 50 images.
